BILBAO CITY COUNCIL

Located on Plaza Ernesto Erkoreka, a 10-minute walk from the Bizkaia Aretoa.

    Designed by the architect Frank Gehry. The building represents a major example of avant-garde 20th-century architecture.

    • PALACIO EUSKALDUNA CONCERT HALL

      The Palacio Euskalduna is the venue for the city's classical music programme, run by the BAO-Asociación Bilbaina de Amigos de la Ópera, and concerts performed by the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of the Basque Country.

        Bilbao's Fine Art Museum, created in 1908 and opened in 1914, has a collection of over seven thousand artworks, including paintings, sculpture, works on paper and decorative arts, in an outstanding architectural setting which tells the story of art from the medieval period to the present day.

        • BILBAO MARITIME MUSEUM

          Bilbao's Maritime Museum is located on the site of the former Euskalduna shipyard. Its collection tells the story of the maritime activity along the Bilbao Estuary and in the city's port, as well as shipping activity and maritime trade in general, with special focus on items that show a connection to the men and women of the city.
